Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government has directed the police to strengthen security in the wake of a communication received from Central intelligence agencies, Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said on Wednesday.

Replying to questions in the Assembly, he said the police had been asked to keep vigil all over the State to prevent militant activities.

Deputy Superintendents of Police (Special Branch) in all districts were taking steps to identify foreigners, especially Pakistanis, staying in the State without proper documents and send them back.

Port Registration Officers had been asked to keep a watch on the arrival of foreigners and their movement. Personnel of the Special Branch were keeping a watch on hotels and other places.
